The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central and northeast Alabama

  Northwest Georgia



* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 945 PM

  until 200 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A squall line entering northwest Alabama should persist

for a few more hours and move across central/northeast Alabama and

northwest Georgia before weakening late tonight.  A few damaging

outflow gusts will be the main threat.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles east and west of a line from 45 miles north of Rome GA

to 60 miles south of Tuscaloosa AL. For a complete depiction of the
