The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Western North Dakota

  Extreme northwestern South Dakota



* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 300 PM until

  1000 PM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Scattered thunderstorm development is expected in the next

couple of hours along a surface cold front moving from Montana into

western North Dakota and northwestern South Dakota.  The storm

environment will support supercells capable of producing large hail

and damaging winds for a few hours this evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40

statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles north northwest

of Minot ND to 20 miles south of Buffalo SD. For a complete
