The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central Nebraska



* Effective this Monday night from 625 PM until Midnight CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are developing in a small cluster across

central Nebraska, and these storms may persist through the late

evening/early overnight hours.  The storm environment is sufficient

for embedded supercells with an attendant threat for large hail and

damaging winds.  Additionally, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled

out this evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles east and west of a line from 45 miles west northwest

of Burwell NE to 35 miles southeast of North Platte NE. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
