The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northwestern and central Oklahoma and the eastern Oklahoma

Panhandle

  The northeastern Texas Panhandle



* Effective this Sunday night and Monday morning from 1000 PM

  until 500 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts

    to 75 mph possible

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Severe storm cluster over southwestern Kansas should

continue moving southeastward at about 40 kt, with some upscale

growth expected as the storms move into the instability corridor

across Oklahoma.  Large hail will be possible with the more intense

embedded storms/supercells, while the threat for damaging winds will

increase as the storms evolve into more linear/bowing segments

overnight.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 105

statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles northwest of

Gage OK to 20 miles south of Chickasha OK. For a complete depiction

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
