The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northern Nebraska

  Southern South Dakota



* Effective this Friday afternoon from 440 PM until Midnight CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5

    inches in diameter likely

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Severe thunderstorms capable of large hail will track

northward across the watch area this evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles north and south of a line from 110 miles west of

Valentine NE to 25 miles east of Mitchell SD. For a complete
