The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Extreme northwestern Arkansas

  East-central and northeastern Oklahoma



* Effective this Tuesday morning from 510 AM until NOON CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A few tornadoes possible

  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75

    mph possible

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A bowing line of thunderstorms with embedded bookend/QLCS

vortices will continue to pose a damaging-wind and tornado threat,

with isolated large hail, as it crosses the watch area through the

morning.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 75 statute miles

either side of a line from 15 miles southwest of Poteau OK to 40

miles north northwest of Muskogee OK. For a complete depiction of

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch

area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for

threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements

and possible warnings.

OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...This tornado watch replaces tornado

watch number 204. Watch number 204 will not be in effect after

510 AM CDT.



AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail

surface and aloft to 2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

gusts to 65 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean

storm motion vector 24035.
