The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central and eastern Arkansas

  Northern Louisiana

  Northwestern Mississippi



* Effective this Wednesday night and Thursday morning from 840 PM

  until 400 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5

    inches in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Clusters of severe thunderstorms are expected to move

across the region this evening and tonight from the eastern parts of

tornado watch 401, offering mainly hail and wind threats.  However,

a tornado cannot be ruled out.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65

statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles north northeast

of Little Rock AR to 60 miles south southwest of Greenville MS. For

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
