The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northern Iowa

  Southern Minnesota



* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 315 PM until

  800 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Cluster of strong to isolated severe storms should move

east from southwest Minnesota along the Minnesota/Iowa border

region. Scattered damaging winds will be the primary hazard, but a

brief tornado and isolated large hail are also possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles north

northwest of Spencer IA to 30 miles east southeast of Rochester MN.

tornadoes.
