The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  West central Illinois

  North central and northeastern Missouri



* Effective this Saturday night from 715 PM until Midnight CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A cluster of storms in southern Iowa will likely persist

and continue developing southeastward through the evening, along a

slow-moving outflow boundary.  The storm environment will favor

primarily multicell clusters capable of producing occasional

downbursts with damaging wind potential.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 30

statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles north

northwest of Chillicothe MO to 15 miles south southeast of Peoria
