The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Deep South Texas

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Sunday night and Monday morning from 1040 PM

  until 600 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...A line of storms will continue to move southeastward from

south central into deep South Texas, and other storm clusters could

affect areas along the lower Rio Grande River.  The stronger storms

in the line/clusters will pose a threat for damaging winds and large

hail through the overnight hours.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70

statute miles east and west of a line from 70 miles north of Mcallen

TX to 20 miles west southwest of Brownsville TX. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
