The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southeast and east-central Colorado

  Northeast New Mexico



* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 225 PM

  until 900 PM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 2.5 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Severe thunderstorms will continue to increase into the

high plains of southeast/east-central Colorado this afternoon, and a

bit later across northeast New Mexico. Large hail and severe-caliber

wind gusts are the primary hazards.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles east and west of a line from 10 miles east northeast

of Limon CO to 35 miles south southwest of Tucumcari NM. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

tornadoes.
