The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  northeastern North Carolina

  southeastern Virginia

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Friday morning and afternoon from 620 AM until

  100 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple tornadoes possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...An evolving band of thunderstorms, as well as isolated

supercells, are expected to overspread the area through mid morning,

accompanied by locally damaging wind gusts and perhaps a couple of

tornadoes.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles

east and west of a line from 45 miles north of Norfolk VA to 25

miles south of Elizabeth City NC. For a complete depiction of the
