The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central Kansas

  South Central Nebraska



* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 840 PM

  until 200 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely



SUMMARY...Scattered intense thunderstorms over western Kansas will

continue to spread eastward this evening, posing a risk of large

hail and damaging wind gusts across the watch area.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles north northeast

of Hill City KS to 45 miles south of Wichita KS. For a complete
