The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Western and southern Alabama

  Florida Panhandle

  East-central and southeastern Mississippi

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Thursday afternoon from 500 PM until Midnight

  CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...A large complex of thunderstorms is expected to continue

offering a severe-gust threat, with isolated hail possible, as it

crosses a favorably warm/unstable air mass this evening.  Sea-breeze

storms near the coast will pose a secondary severe threat, and the

main storm complex may collide with some of their boundaries this

evening as well.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75

statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles south

southwest of Meridian MS to 35 miles south southeast of Dothan AL.

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
