The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central and Northeast Colorado

  Nebraska Panhandle

  Southeast Wyoming



* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 200 PM until

  900 PM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Strong to severe thunderstorms will build off of the

higher terrain into the watch area this afternoon.  The more intense

cells will pose a risk of large hail and damaging wind gusts.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles east and west of a line from 55 miles northwest of

Alliance NE to 40 miles east southeast of Colorado Springs CO. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

tornadoes.
