The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeast North Carolina

  Southeast Virginia

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 545 PM until

  1000 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Clusters of strong to locally severe storms will

consolidate from the Piedmont and should accelerate east into the

Coastal Plain this evening. Damaging winds will be the primary

hazard.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45

statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles southeast of

Goldsboro NC to 60 miles north of Norfolk VA. For a complete

tornadoes.
