The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northern Georgia

  Western North Carolina

  Western South Carolina

  Eastern Tennessee

  Far western Virginia



* Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 425 PM until

  1000 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Scattered thunderstorms should develop east across the

southern Appalachians through this evening. Damaging winds will be

the primary hazard, but a brief tornado and isolated severe hail are

also possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles east and west of a line from 15 miles south southwest

of Atlanta GA to 25 miles north northwest of Bristol TN. For a

tornadoes.
