The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southeast Kansas

  North Central Oklahoma



* Effective this Wednesday afternoon from 430 PM until Midnight

  CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Widespread large hail expected with isolated very large hail

    events to 2.5 inches in diameter likely

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to form late this afternoon

over southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma, posing a risk of

damaging hail and locally damaging wind gusts.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75

statute miles north and south of a line from 20 miles south

southwest of Alva OK to 25 miles east northeast of Chanute KS. For a
