The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Extreme northeastern Georgia

  Western North Carolina

  Northwestern South Carolina



* Effective this Monday morning from 150 AM until 800 AM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible

  Widespread damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A band of severe storms in Georgia will spread

northeastward through the early morning hours into the western

Carolinas.  The storm environment favors both embedded bowing

segments and supercells capable of producing tornadoes and damaging

winds.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles

east and west of a line from 25 miles north northeast of Hickory NC

to 25 miles south of Anderson SC. For a complete depiction of the
