The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Parts of western into central Kansas

  Southern Nebraska



* Effective this Sunday afternoon from 540 PM until Midnight CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75

    mph likely

  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Clusters of severe storms are expected to develop this

evening along a cold front, and as outflow surges eastward from

Colorado.  The predominant storm mode will be multicell clusters

with the potential for a swath of damaging outflow winds across

Kansas, with isolated significant gusts possible through late

evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75

statute miles north and south of a line from 25 miles southwest of

Goodland KS to 50 miles east northeast of Russell KS. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
