The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Extreme northeastern Nebraska

  Eastern South Dakota



* Effective this Friday morning from 215 AM until 700 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A squall line across central South Dakota will move

eastward through the early morning hours.  Occasional damaging gusts

and isolated, marginally severe hail will be possible with the

stronger storms in the line.  The severe threat should diminish

before sunrise, except for areas near the Missouri River in extreme

southeast South Dakota and northeast Nebraska.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65

statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles north of

Aberdeen SD to 55 miles south of Mitchell SD. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
