The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  much of New York

  portions of northern Pennsylvania

  Vermont

  Lake Ontario



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 335 PM until

  1100 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are forecast to continue increasing in

coverage across the watch area over the next few hours, with a

possible second band of storms spreading southeastward into parts of

northern New York and Vermont this evening.  Along with potential

for hail, damaging winds will likely occur with stronger

storms/bands of storms into the evening hours.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75

statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles south

southwest of Buffalo NY to 15 miles south southeast of Montpelier

tornadoes.
