The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  West Texas



* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 650 PM

  until 100 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...A linearly organized complex of storms will likely

continue to move southeastward this evening across the Plains of

West Texas with the potential for severe-caliber wind gusts. Some

sporadic severe hail may also occur.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65

statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles north northwest

of Plainview TX to 50 miles south southeast of Lubbock TX. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
