The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northwestern Connecticut

  Western Massachusetts

  Southwestern New Hampshire

  Eastern New York

  Northeastern Pennsylvania

  Southern Vermont



* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 620 PM

  until 200 AM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts

    to 75 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...A belt of showers and thunderstorms, with a history of

both severe and damaging wind gusts across the lower Great Lakes

region, will maintain some wind-damage threat eastward over the

watch area, before encountering more-stable air and weakening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 80

statute miles east and west of a line from 30 miles south of

Williamsport PA to 30 miles north of Keene NH. For a complete
