The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Eastern Colorado

  Northwest Kansas

  South Central Nebraska



* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 210 PM until

  1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible

  Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3

    inches in diameter likely

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely



SUMMARY...Ongoing thunderstorms and new development will affect the

watch area this afternoon and evening.  Supercells capable of very

large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes will be possible.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles

north and south of a line from 35 miles west of Burlington CO to 45

miles northeast of Russell KS. For a complete depiction of the watch

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch

area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for

threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements

and possible warnings.

surface and aloft to 3 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
