The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southern Kansas

  Central and Eastern Oklahoma



* Effective this Monday morning from 1230 AM until 800 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...A very well-organized squall line, with a history of

severe-caliber wind gusts late this evening, will continue to make a

steady east-southeastward progression, potentially with some

additional forward acceleration (50+ mph) through the overnight

across central and eastern Oklahoma and far southern Kansas.

Corridors of at least localized wind damage will the primary impact.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70

statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles north northwest

of Bartlesville OK to 60 miles southeast of Oklahoma City OK. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
