The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeastern Arkansas

  Southern Illinois

  Extreme southwestern Indiana

  Western Kentucky

  Southeastern Missouri

  Northwestern Tennessee



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and Friday morning from 530

  PM until 100 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A complex of severe thunderstorms, with a history of

damaging/severe gusts, is expected to maintain wind-damage potential

as it moves through a favorably moist/unstable air mass across the

watch area this evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75

statute miles either side of a line from 15 miles east northeast of

Evansville IN to 40 miles southwest of Poplar Bluff MO. For a
