The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southeastern Montana



* Effective this Monday night and Tuesday morning from 655 PM

  until 100 AM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Isolated severe storms are expected to move eastward from

the higher terrain in southern Montana, and also form over

southeastern Montana this evening.  The storm environment is

favorable for organized storms, including supercells and/or small

bowing segments.  Large hail and damaging winds will be the main

threats into tonight.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45

statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles south

southeast of Baker MT to 10 miles west southwest of Billings MT. For

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
