The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Extreme southeastern Indiana

  North central Kentucky

  Southwestern into north central Ohio

  Lake Erie



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 500 PM until

  1000 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...A broken band of storms, with some embedded supercells,

may persist for a few more hours before diurnal cooling contributes

to storm weakening.  The storm environment will favor supercells

capable of producing damaging winds and isolated large hail, along

with a tornado or two.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles east and west of a line from 45 miles north northeast

of Mansfield OH to 35 miles south of Louisville KY. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
