The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Parts of northern and west central Florida Peninsula

  Southeastern Georgia

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Friday morning and afternoon from 1015 AM until

  400 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple tornadoes possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A broken squall line will likely persist into the

afternoon while moving eastward.  Bowing segments and embedded

supercells will pose a threat for a couple of tornadoes and damaging

gusts, along with isolated large hail.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles

east and west of a line from 40 miles north northeast of Waycross GA

to 30 miles southwest of Sarasota FL. For a complete depiction of

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch

area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for

threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements

and possible warnings.

surface and aloft to 1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
