The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  West Central Illinois

  Eastern Kansas Kansas

  Central and Northern Missouri



* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 330 PM until

  1100 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter likely

  Widespread damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will increase in coverage and intensity this

afternoon across the watch area, with a few severe clusters

expected.  Damaging wind gusts and large hail are likely in the

strongest storms.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles south

southwest of Olathe KS to 25 miles east southeast of Springfield IL.
