The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Central and southern Louisiana

  Southeast Mississippi

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Saturday morning from 1215 AM until 700 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A few tornadoes and a couple intense tornadoes possible

  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 80

    mph likely

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...As a slow-moving squall line intersects more discrete

storms forming ahead of it, the tornado threat will increase.

Otherwise, the squall line should intensify and accelerate with

bowing segments capable of significant severe wind damage.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles

north and south of a line from 55 miles west northwest of Lafayette

LA to 55 miles east southeast of Pine Belt MS. For a complete
