The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southeast New Mexico

  West/Southwest Texas



* Effective this Sunday night and Monday morning from 600 PM

  until 100 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5

    inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Isolated severe storms including supercells will persist

generally eastward across southeast New Mexico into parts of west

Texas this evening. Large hail and possibly some tornado risk will

exist with some potential for an increasing risk of severe-caliber

wind gusts this evening as storms merge into one or more

semi-organized MCS.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 95

statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles north northeast

of Plainview TX to 50 miles west of Midland TX. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
