The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northwest Minnesota

  North central and northeast North Dakota



* Effective this Wednesday night and Thursday morning from 1010

  PM until 500 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms developing in southeast Saskatchewan and

southwest Manitoba will spread southeastward into North Dakota and

northwest Minnesota overnight.  The storms will pose a risk for

damaging winds and large hail, especially with embedded supercells.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles north and south of a line from 10 miles west northwest

of Minot ND to 10 miles north northeast of Thief River Falls MN. For

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
