The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central Minnesota

  Northeast South Dakota

  Northwest Wisconsin

  Lake Superior



* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 320 PM until

  1100 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will continue to intensify over west-central

MN and track eastward across the watch area this afternoon and

evening.  A few of the storms will become capable of damaging wind

gusts and large hail.  An isolated tornado is also possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles south

southwest of Detroit Lakes MN to 30 miles east southeast of Duluth
