The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeast Colorado

  Northwest Kansas

  Southwest Nebraska



* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 235 PM

  until 900 PM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to develop and intensify this

afternoon from northeast Colorado into Nebraska.  The storm

environment will support a threat for supercells with large hail and

damaging winds initially, and convection may grow into a cluster or

two while moving southward-southeastward through late evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles east and west of a line from 105 miles north of

Imperial NE to 10 miles southwest of Burlington CO. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
