The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  central and northeast Nebraska

  southeast South Dakota



* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 540 PM until

  1100 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A cold front will continue to move eastward across the

central and northern Plains this evening. Enough instability

combined with moderate deep-layer and steep low-level lapse rates

will make damaging wind gusts and hail possible as storms increase

in coverage through early to mid evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65

statute miles east and west of a line from 15 miles east northeast

of Watertown SD to 30 miles southeast of Broken Bow NE. For a

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
