The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  East Central Colorado

  Western Nebraska

  Southeast Wyoming



* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 300 PM until

  1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter likely

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are rapidly forming along the front range as

a strong upper trough move into the region.  A few severe storms

capable of large hail and damaging winds are expected.  An isolated

tornado or two will also be possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles south southeast

of Pueblo CO to 25 miles east northeast of Douglas WY. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
