The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Northern Arkansas

  Southwest Illinois

  Southern Missouri



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 200 PM until

  800 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple tornadoes possible

  Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5

    inches in diameter likely

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to form over southern Missouri

this afternoon and track eastward across the watch area.  Intense

storms capable of very large hail, damaging winds, and isolated

tornadoes will be possible.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles

north and south of a line from 30 miles southwest of Springfield MO

to 35 miles southeast of Carbondale IL. For a complete depiction of
