The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northwest Oklahoma

  Texas Panhandle



* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 1015 PM

  until 500 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75

    mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...An increasingly well-organized cluster of storms with a

history of severe-measured winds in southwest Kansas will continue

southeastward into parts of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles as

well as much of northwest Oklahoma. While some hail may occur,

damaging winds will be the most common concern into the overnight

hours.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles south of

Guymon OK to 40 miles south southeast of Alva OK. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
