The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Much of northern and central Lower Michigan

  Lake Huron

  Lake Michigan



* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 620 PM

  until 100 AM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A line of thunderstorms will progress eastward from

Wisconsin and northern Lake Michigan into Lower Michigan through the

evening and early overnight hours.  The storm environment will favor

maintaining the line segments for several more hours, with an

attendant threat for damaging winds in bowing segments, and isolated

large hail with the strongest embedded storms.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70

statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles west southwest

of Manistee MI to 40 miles northeast of Bad Axe MI. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
