The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central Kansas



* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 355 PM until

  1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...A few low-topped supercells and multicell clusters are

possible this afternoon across the watch area.  Large hail appears

to be the main threat, but there could be an isolated tornado or

two.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles north and south of a line from 45 miles west northwest

of Russell KS to 15 miles south southeast of Emporia KS. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
