The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central Montana



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 235 PM until

  1000 PM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to spread across the watch area

through the afternoon and evening hours, with a few severe storms

possible.  High-based storms producing damaging winds and hail are

the main concern.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70

statute miles east and west of a line from 80 miles east northeast

of Havre MT to 55 miles southeast of Dillon MT. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
