The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Central and Northeast Montana



* Effective this Friday afternoon from 445 PM until Midnight MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple tornadoes possible

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5

    inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Severe thunderstorms are expected to gradually develop and

increase initially across central Montana through the

early/mid-evening hours. The environment will become increasingly

favorable for supercells capable of large hail/locally damaging

winds, with a tornado risk also increasing through mid-evening.

Storms will likely spread northeastward into northeast Montana by

late evening.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 75 statute miles

north and south of a line from 65 miles west northwest of Lewistown

MT to 25 miles east southeast of Glasgow MT. For a complete
