The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeast Colorado

  Western Nebraska

  Western South Dakota

  Eastern Wyoming



* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 215 PM until

  900 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 2.5 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Clusters of intense thunderstorms are expected to form

this afternoon and spread eastward across the watch area.  Large

hail will be the primary threat, although locally damaging wind

potential will increase through the late afternoon.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70

statute miles east and west of a line from 15 miles northeast of

Buffalo SD to 40 miles south southeast of Sidney NE. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
