The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Eastern Montana

  Western North Dakota

  Western South Dakota

  Northeast Wyoming



* Effective this Monday afternoon from 355 PM until Midnight MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple tornadoes possible

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 3 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Supercells are expected to develop especially across

eastern Montana/western North Dakota through late afternoon/early

evening, especially in vicinity of a surface low and warm front

where the large hail and tornado risk should be maximized. Other

somewhat higher based storms including supercells are expected

farther south across northeast Wyoming and western South Dakota.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 90 statute miles

east and west of a line from 60 miles north of Williston ND to 50

miles east southeast of Gillette WY. For a complete depiction of the

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch

area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for

threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements

and possible warnings.

surface and aloft to 3 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 550. Mean
