The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northern Kansas

  Southern Nebraska



* Effective this Friday afternoon from 505 PM until Midnight CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Storms will continue to develop south/southwestward along

an advancing cold front across south-central/southeast Nebraska into

northern Kansas. Severe hail and damaging winds are possible where

storms develop late this afternoon into evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles north and south of a line from 85 miles southwest of

Hastings NE to 30 miles east northeast of Beatrice NE. For a
