The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  West Central Iowa

  Northern Kansas

  Eastern Nebraska



* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 330 PM until

  1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3

    inches in diameter likely

  Widespread damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts

    to 75 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will develop across central NE and spread

eastward across the watch area this afternoon and evening.

Supercells with very large hail will be a threat early, with a

transition to more concern for damaging winds this evening.

Isolated tornadoes are also possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 85

statute miles east and west of a line from 70 miles south southeast

of Hastings NE to 25 miles west northwest of Sioux City IA. For a
