The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Eastern Kansas

  Western and central Missouri



* Effective this Saturday morning from 545 AM until NOON CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75

    mph possible



SUMMARY...A complex of thunderstorms has re-intensified to severe

levels over the Kansas City area and parts of eastern Kansas near

Emporia, and may continue to pose a risk of severe/damaging gusts

with embedded storm clusters through mid-late morning over the watch

area.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65

statute miles either side of a line from 55 miles northwest of

Joplin MO to 55 miles east of Knob Noster MO. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
