The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Extreme northeastern Colorado

  The southern Nebraska Panhandle

  Southeastern Wyoming



* Effective this Sunday afternoon from 1205 PM until 500 PM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter likely



SUMMARY...A long-lived supercell that formed earlier this morning

across southern Wyoming will likely persist through the afternoon

while moving slightly south of east at roughly 40 kt.  This storm

will pose a threat for damaging winds (per recent observations of 66

and 78 mph gusts) and large hail, with some additional storm

development possible this afternoon.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40

statute miles north and south of a line from 25 miles northwest of

Laramie WY to 25 miles northeast of Sidney NE. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

1.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
